The Department Of Conservation’s Heritage and Visitor Strategy
The Department Of Conservation (DOC) reported their Heritage and Visitor Strategy. See below an introduction and please visit DOC’s website for the full article.
“DOC’s Heritage and Visitor Strategy guides our work to sustainably manage visitors to protect and enhance the values of New Zealand’s natural, cultural and historic heritage. The Strategy sets out the goals we want to achieve and the steps we will take to get there, so that our heritage and visitor system supports Papatūānuku to thrive. It is designed for everyday use by DOC staff. It will help inform visitor and heritage management decisions across the country, including our work with iwi, hapū and whanau, stakeholders and across government, in line with the New Zealand-Aotearoa Government Tourism Strategy.”
